Welcome to Feather Farm we produce the purple granadilla, also known as the purple passion fruit. Here in Donkerhoek South Africa it is locally grown for commercial and home use.

The purple passion fruit produces large (up to 90mm), showy white, blue and purple flowers during late summer and autumn. The flowers tend to open in the morning and close the following evening and are perfumed.

The leaves are large and heart-shaped produced on quite a vigorous vine.

Passionfruit plants are insect pollinated. Therefore adverse weather conditions during flowering may effect fruit set and sheltered planting sites minimize this problem.

Fruit
Large sweet fruit turning yellow when ripe. Regarded by some as the most delicious of all passionfruit.
